Enhance Your Social Selling Index and Personal Brand (Video)

LinkedIn continues to be an amazing tool to help professionals establish a personal brand and expand their footprint in the marketplace. In order to do that they have designed an algorithm to give each user their social selling index.

How do you get your index?

LinkedIn claims that “salespeople who excel at social selling are creating more opportunities and are 51% more likely to hit quota. It is because of this massive potential that measurement of social selling efforts is all the more important.”

The index gives each user-specific areas that represent the overall score. The areas are:

  1. Establish your professional brand: Complete your profile with the customer in mind and become a thought leader by publishing meaningful posts.
  2. Find the right people: Identify better prospects in less time using efficient search and research tools.
  3. Engage with insights: Discover and share conversation-worthy updates to create and grow relationships.

Build relationships: Strengthen your network by connecting and establishing trust with decision makers.

During our workshops, we invite each person to identify their current social selling index. Individual are then divided by groups depending on the areas that they need to improve. The first steps is to focus on your personal brand; this is where your picture, headline and summary play an important role. Te second component is to focus on improving one of the four areas where you have a lower score. Change in your score will come overtime and will required incremental improvements.
